Every plan includes the whole product. Plans differ only in how many people can write and how many documents your brain can hold.

Plans

Prices are in USD. Annual billing charges ten months’ price for twelve months of service. Subscriptions started on or before 30 September 2026 receive 30% off for the first 12 months, applied automatically at checkout.

What differs between plans

Only two things: author seats and the document cap. Every document format and every agent tool is available on all plans, including Free. Agent access is unlimited and reads are never metered. Author seats count active members plus pending invitations. See Members and roles for how seats are consumed and released.

The 14-day trial

Signing up is free and requires no card. After signup Tatara offers you a 14-day trial of the Starter plan, which gives you 5 author seats and 10,000 documents.
  • Starting the trial requires a card.
  • When the 14 days end, the trial converts to paid Starter unless you cancel first.
  • Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged.
  • Declining the trial leaves you on the Free plan permanently, with 1 seat and 50 documents.

How limits behave

Limits guard writes only. Reads and deletes always work, at any usage level, on any plan. Being over the cap only happens after a downgrade or a lapsed trial leaves you with more documents than the new plan allows. Documents become read-only until you free up space or move to a larger plan. Deleting documents always works, so you can always get back under the limit yourself. Inviting someone past your seat cap is blocked. Because pending invitations hold a seat, revoking an unaccepted invitation frees one immediately. Agents hit the same limits as people, and receive the same explanation in the tool response, including what to delete or upgrade to get unblocked.

Manage your subscription

Open Settings → Billing in the app. Everyone in the workspace can see the current plan, its status, and usage: documents used against the cap, and author seats used against the cap. Only owners can make changes. Payments run through Stripe. To start a paid plan, an owner picks a plan and a billing interval, then completes checkout. Everything after that happens in Stripe’s hosted billing portal, reached from Manage billing in billing settings:
  • change plan or billing interval
  • update your card
  • cancel your subscription
  • download invoices and receipts
Tatara does not build its own screens for these. The portal is the only place to do them. For an Enterprise arrangement, open the plan picker in billing settings and choose the option to talk to us.
If a payment fails, you keep full access while Stripe retries your card. If every retry fails, the workspace falls back to Free plan limits.

One brain per workspace

Each workspace has exactly one brain, created for you when you set up your company. Document caps apply to that brain. There is no per-plan brain count and no way to create or switch between multiple brains.
